About Us
At the National Partnership, we’re all about making life better for women and families.
Our mission is to improve the lives of women and families by achieving equality for all women.
That means standing strong for women’s health, reproductive rights and economic justice.
That means speaking truth to power, holding our elected leaders accountable and fighting back when extremists stand in the way of our progress.
That means achieving equality for all women. Roll up your sleeves and join us.
The National Partnership for Women & Families is a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization that works to change policy and culture.
We ground ourselves in the lived experience of women and families, particularly those who face the greatest barriers to equity and opportunity. We focus on issues that increase equity, health, and economic justice and how they impact women’s ability to thrive and fully participate in our society.

How We Do Our Work
We accomplish our work through advocacy in both the public and private sectors and at the federal, state, and local levels. Our strategies includes: policy research and analysis; technical assistance to policymakers, media, and allies; leadership and participation in diverse coalitions and stakeholder relationships, public education, and public engagement. In all of our work we seek to amplify the leadership of grassroots groups and women of color who are fighting for social justice.
Current Issue Focus
We specifically focus on:
- Advancing gender and racial equity in the workplace through paid family and medical leave, equal pay, prevention of sexual harassment, fairness for pregnant workers, paid sick days, and fair scheduling.
- Improving access to affordable, quality health care that authentically meets the needs of all women and families and reduces inequities in health, especially the disparities and declining outcomes in maternal health.
- Promoting reproductive freedom and justice, access to contraception and abortion care, and elimination of the stigma associated with abortion.
Racial Equity
To fulfill our mission, we must promote racial equity and combat white supremacy.
