Interim Vice President for Economic Justice
Lelaine Bigelow is the Interim Vice President for Congressional Relations & Economic Justice at the National Partnership for Women & Families, where she is responsible for creating and executing strategy and outreach plans for engaging with external stakeholders and businesses. She leads and implements the Economic Justice team issue campaigns and is responsible for coordinating with policy and communications staff across teams to maximize the impact of our federal policy and advocacy work.
Prior to her work at the National Partnership, Lelaine was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Relations at the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Obama Administration and spent almost a decade on Capitol Hill. She also worked for a political communications firm and a federal agency focused on promoting the growth and development of minority businesses.
Lelaine grew up in Florida and relocated to Washington, D.C. to attend the Graduate School of Political Management in 2001. She loves to volunteer during election season in different parts of the country to talk to voters and constituents across the country. Despite her younger self saying 'never ever,' she currently enjoys being a Hill rat with her husband and son. Her dream is to have a small, thriving potager.
