Jake McDonald

Jake McDonald is the policy counsel for economic justice at the National Partnership for Women & Families, where he leads state and local work to advance laws and policies that promote a fair and family friendly economy. He builds relationships with and provides legal and policy expertise to advocates and legislators across the country with a focus on gender, racial, and disability equity. Jake also works in coalition to support federal legislative and administrative campaigns, particularly those protecting pregnant workers.

Previously, Jake worked at the Medicare Rights Center helping low-income seniors and people with disabilities access health care and coverage, educating professionals and the public, and advocating for healthcare policy and system change. He was a Carr Center for Reproductive Justice Fellow at A Better Balance, providing legal assistance and developing policy solutions to create more equitable workplaces.

Jake grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Notre Dame and NYU School of Law. He is proud to have been a New Orleans public school teacher.
