Summary:

Guarantees eight hours of leave in a calendar month, but not more than 40 hours in a calendar year, for employees who work at least 30 hours a week to attend their child's school-related academic, extracurricular or developmental activities. Employees who work less than 30 hours a week are entitled to up to four hours of leave in a calendar month, but not more than 20 hours in a calendar year.

Workers may use their existing vacation, personal or comp leave or take unpaid leave. Workers who have a child in a licensed day care facility or in prekindergarten through Grade 12 and who have been employed at least three months are eligible for leave.
