Summary:
Guarantees a minimum of one hour of paid sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually for workers in small businesses (defined as having fewer than 10 employees) and 72 hours annually for all other workers.
Workers may use the leave to care for themselves or a family member who is ill, needs preventive or medical care or is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
"Family member" is defined as a spouse or reciprocal beneficiary, child (or child of a reciprocal beneficiary), parent, grandparent, sibling (or those family members' spouses or reciprocal beneficiaries), grandchild or "any other individual related by blood or affinity."
