Summary:
Creates a paid parental leave fund that would provide qualified workers with up to 15 weeks of paid leave, paid at two-thirds of the employee's average weekly wage up to a $500 cap, following the birth or adoption of a child. An employer must continue an employee's benefits during a period of leave and restore the employee to the same or a comparable job upon the employee's return to work. The fund is to be paid for through employee payroll taxes.
