Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina v. Cansler

Challenge to a North Carolina law that prohibits the state’s department of health and human services from providing state or state-administered funds to Planned Parenthood affiliates. In August 2011, the U.S. District Court issued a ruling enjoining enforcement of the law pending resolution of the case. Current Status: In June 2012, the court struck down the law as unconstitutional under the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution, as well as the Supremacy Clause and the prohibitions against bills of attainder.
