'Personhood' Initiative Falls Short in Oregon

July 6, 2012 — Supporters of a so-called "personhood" measure fell short in their attempt to qualify their proposal for the ballot, Willamette Week reports.

Initiative Petition 22 would have amended the state constitution to define life as beginning at fertilization and stated that "no person shall be denied the right to life" (Willamette Week, 7/5).
