April 19, 2012 — Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner (D) speaks with MSNBC's Ed Schultz about a proposal by state lawmakers to effectively cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood. Turner calls the proposal -- attached as a budget amendment -- an attack on low-income residents that would cut off access to preventive care for "everyday women." She urges supporters of Planned Parenthood to sign a petition to urge Gov. John Kasich (R) "and the Republicans in the Ohio General Assembly to keep their hands off of women's bodies and their access to health care" (Schultz, "The Ed Show," MSNBC, 4/18).
Repro Health Watch — an exciting new edition of the Women’s Health Policy Report — compiles and distributes media coverage of proposed and enacted state laws and ballot initiatives affecting women's access to comprehensive reproductive health care, as well as litigation in response to those provisions.
