Summary: Creates a temporary caregiver insurance benefit as an expansion of the state temporary disability program. Eligible workers would be able to draw upon this benefit when they need to take time off to care for a child, parent, spouse, domestic partner, grandparent or in-law with a serious health condition. The new benefit would be paid for by worker payroll contributions. Workers who take leave would be entitled to job protection and continuation of health benefits.
