Expands the state workers’ compensation and temporary disability insurance fund to provide benefits for family care, defined as care of a family member made necessary by a serious health condition or care for a new child. “Family member” is defined as a child, spouse, domestic partner, parent, grandchild, grandparent or parent of a spouse or domestic partner. Leave taken under the family care program is job-protected for workers in businesses with 25 or more employees, and employers may not retaliate against workers who take the leave.
