Summary: Women workers in New Hampshire have greater access to pregnancy disability leave under state law than under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The New Hampshire law applies to businesses with six or more employees and covers all women workers regardless of tenure and number of hours worked. The law provides workers with a job-protected medical leave of unspecified length for “pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions.”
