Paid Parental Leave (Enacted But Not Implemented)

Summary: Under a paid parental leave law passed in 2007 but not yet implemented, workers will be entitled to up to five weeks of paid parental leave to care for a new child. The law
entitles full-time workers to a benefit amount of $250 per week (the amount is prorated
for part-time workers). Employers with more than 25 workers must provide job
protection to workers who have been with the employer for at least one year and have
worked at least 1,250 hours during the previous year.
