Summary: The State Disability Insurance (SDI) program provides up to 52 weeks of partial wage replacement (55% of weekly wages, up to a cap of $987 per week in 2011) to private-sector workers and some public-sector workers who need time away from work to address their own serious health conditions. Eligible workers with pregnancy-related disabilities qualify for SDI.
