Summary: Expands the circumstances under which a worker is entitled to job-protected leave under the California Family Rights Act by eliminating the age and dependency elements from the definition of “child;” expanding the definition of “parent” to include in-laws; and permitting a worker to take leave to care for a seriously ill grandparent, sibling, grandchild or domestic partner.
