Campaign for Better Care Story
Campaign for Better Care
Health care reform was a monumental first step toward addressing the challenges created by our fragmented health care system. The Campaign for Better Care is the essential next step. The Campaign’s goal is to make sure that the needs of patients and their family caregivers are front and center in the new health care system. In particular, we want to ensure better care for older persons with multiple health conditions. The Campaign for Better Care is mobilizing and engaging patients—especially older adults with multiple chronic conditions and families—to advocate for the care they need. This multi-year, multi-faceted campaign is led by the National Partnership for Women & Families (National Partnership) with support from The Atlantic Philanthropies. It is bringing the voices of the consumers to policy makers in order to create real and lasting change. Together with our partners at Community Catalyst and the National Health Law Program, the National Partnership is building a broad-based consumer coalition and partnering with stakeholders around the country to mobilize older adults and their families for better health care. Patients, families, caregivers, daughters, sons YOU! That is what the Campaign for Better Care is about and together we will seize opportunities to improve our health care system so that it delivers the high quality, comprehensive, coordinated care that every person deserves.
