Tucker Ball, Director of New Media

Tucker Ball is director of new media for the National Partnership for Women & Families. In this role, Ball develops and executes an integrated communications strategy to increase the organization's visibility, membership, and online fundraising.

Prior to joining the National Partnership, Ball served as chief marketing officer for Sojourners where he managed the organization's magazine circulation, fundraising, and online operations. Ball managed various integrated marketing campaigns including "God is Not a Republican…Or a Democrat" (2004) and the launch of Jim Wallis' "God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It" (2005) which reached the New York Times best-seller list in the first week of promotion. Among his achievements, Ball helped Sojourners win awards that include Outstanding Achievement in E-Philanthropy (Association of Fundraising Professionals, 2005), Most Innovative Advocacy Campaign (GetActive, 2004), and Awards of Excellence (Associated Church Press, 2005, 2003, 2002).

Previously, Ball founded First Coast Creative LLC, a start-up Web design company in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., to assist nonprofit and faith-based organizations; served as a volunteer communications consultant for nonprofit organizations in Belfast, Northern Ireland; worked in web marketing for Free Range Media and KCPQ-TV in Seattle, Wash.; and enjoyed a stint on a student visa with CitiBank in London.

Ball holds a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a minor in Business Administration from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Ball currently resides in Kensington, Md., with his wife, two children, and their rescued labrador.
