June 2014 — It was a sight to behold: an entire White House Summit focused on the workplace issues we have been advocating for — and advancing — for more than four decades.
And for the first time, President Obama called for paid family and medical leave for all Americans – a historic step that the National Partnership and its supporters had urged him to take.
“…21st-century families deserve 21st-century workplaces. ... And that means paid family leave... because all Americans should be able to afford to care for their families.”
This was a watershed moment, but we will continue fighting until the Family And Medical Insurance Leave (FAMILY) Act is law.
