“We created the online rally to raise awareness that all workers need paid sick days,” said National Partnership for Women & Families President Debra L. Ness. “On behalf of the National Partnership and the Healthy Families Act Coalition, we are delighted that the Web Marketing Association has given us this award. With our many allies at the local, state and federal levels, we are continuing our work to convince Congress to pass the Healthy Families Act, so all workers will have a minimum standard of paid sick days.”
The Web Marketing Association works to create a high standard of excellence for website development and marketing on the Internet. Staffed by volunteers, it is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals who share an interest in improving the quality of website development and marketing on the Internet. Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association's annual WebAward Competition has been helping interactive professionals promote themselves, their companies, and their best work to the outside world. Now in its twelfth year, the WebAward Competition has become the premier award event for Web developers and marketers worldwide.
The WebAward Competition assesses websites based on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use. More than 2,400 sites from 45 countries were adjudicated in 96 industry categories during this year's competition. The “Online Rally for Healthy Families” was recognized for excellence in advocacy, non-profit and political.
The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy group dedicated to promoting fairness in the workplace, access to quality health care and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family.
