DETAILS: At the event, Leader Pelosi will give a featured address. National Partnership for Women & Families President Debra L. Ness will discuss the organization’s more than four decades of work to make the country more healthy, fair and family friendly. On the heels of the White House Summit on Working Families, she will talk in-depth about the need to advance programs and policies that promote equal opportunity, paid leave, paid sick days, and quality, affordable health care including the comprehensive reproductive health services women need.

The program will include remarks by Ellen Malcolm, chair of the boards of directors of EMILY’s List and the National Partnership; and MSNBC’s Karen Finney, who will serve as emcee.

Leader Pelosi is being honored for her decades of extraordinary leadership and her support for the many policies that promote the health and economic security of women and families. She has been a tireless and outspoken champion for the changes that will assure that women’s success and families’ well-being are not hindered by outdated policies and unequal opportunity.
