The National Partnership for Women & Families promotes fairness in the workplace, reproductive health and rights, access to quality affordable health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family. The 2014 Fall New Media Intern will work with all aspects of the National Partnership's issues in conjunction with the communications department. Activities may include creating and analyzing content for current and potential social media properties, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, and Buzzfeed, updating and analyzing content on our website, prepping emails for our online supporters, adding relevant content to Wikipedia, attending internal and external meetings and press events, and keeping track of new media trends. The New Media Intern will acquire a broad background in communications strategy, hone her/his technology skills, and participate in special projects with program staff. Experience with the aforementioned social media sites, HTML and Photoshop are a plus.
The internship is unpaid, may be full-time or part-time, and is appropriate for interested students looking for course credit and a career in Communications.
